SmartPROJECT
RandomSPACE wants your renovation project to be a success. To insure that result we have created a project management system for keeping your project on time and on budget. We call it SmartPROJECT. It helps you understand the construction process and helps us make sure we don't miss anything. SmartPROJECT starts when you start planning your project and finishes when we sweep up for the last time. Here are some of the features in the SmartPROJECT system.
Design
- We help you turn your dreams into a working design. We coordinate with architects, engineers, and designers as needed.
- To us, the most important aspect of the design process is making sure final plans accurately reflect your desires. Your vision comes first. We'll take the time to work directly with you and make sure you understand the plans before construction begins.
- We point out expensive design features and suggest alternatives to help save you money.
- We work directly with the city or county to make sure the design is sound, safe, and meets all local code requirements. We'll get the plans approved, get the permit, and collect the necessary insurance and license information from all the sub-contractors involved in the project.
Budgeting
- How much will it cost? This is, perhaps, the most important question. We will work closely with you and take you through the entire budgeting process. We'll make sure you understand the costs before the project begins.
- We'll talk about alternatives that fit the budget you want, not the budget we want.
- We'll present you with a payment schedule in advance so you know when the money is due.
- If changes come up that will affect the budget, you'll know about them before we proceed.
Scheduling
- RandomSPACE will provide you with a detailed project plan that includes a schedule.
- We are happy to respect your scheduling issues. Vacations, guests, or simple access conflicts are built into the schedule to make sure there are no timing surprises.
- You will receive an updated schedule at each weekly project meeting. At that time, changes or corrections will be noted to keep you up to date.
Construction
- Construction on your home can be incredibly invasive. RandomSPACE will make every effort to alert you to loud noises, large crews, or excessive dust.
- We run a clean, safe work site. We clean on a regular basis instead of letting construction debris build until the end of the project.
- RandomSPACE will always have a project manager on-site to grant access to subs and to lock up the site at the end of the day.
- All of our construction work will meet or exceed local building codes. We always try to exceed codes where we feel it matters for better safety, stronger construction, or better aesthetic appeal, but we will not overbuild if it is detrimental to the budget or schedule.
- RandomSPACE is licensed and insured.
Communication
- Most important to us is communication. We'll always keep you updated on all aspects of the project.
- You will receive weekly status updates. These include a status report that covers progress, setbacks, changes, and plans for the coming week. It also covers costs so you'll know where you are with respect to the budget.
- As a project moves forward, it is important that you see and understand exactly what is taking place. To accomplish this we include you in the building process. We spend time with you, on and off site.
- You will always have access to our mobile phone numbers as well as our office number and e-mail address. We want to be sure you can contact us when you need to. Please do not hesitate.
